She was born to Jewish parents, Raymond Charles Arthur Purl, a chemical industry executive, and Marshelline “Marshie” Purl. Purl debuted as Amanda in a production of Tennessee Williams’ The Glass Menagerie at the Cleveland Play House in Cleveland, Ohio in 2008.Īfter leaving Matlock, Purl pursued a career in jazz music, releasing several albums, including Out of This World – Live. Linda Purl has appeared in several television shows, beginning with the daytime soap opera drama The Secret Storm. Purl left Finch College to study under Marguerite Beale in England before returning to the United States of America. She had a role on the soap opera The Secret Storm while she was still in high school. In Washington, Connecticut, she attended Wykeham Rise School, a private boarding school for girls that specializes in creative and performing arts. Purl returned to the United States when he was 15 years old.
